Happy Pride! FUV presented good vibes and Pride-centric specials, celebrating The New York City Pride March on Sunday, June 25 and the NYC Dyke March the previous day.
On his Saturday night show, Benham Jones celebrated with LGBTQIA+ anthems, artists, and local queer heroes, including some of his fellow collaborators from Dave's Lesbian Bar in Queens. Benham has also prepped a fabulous two-hour Pride playlist via Spotify to stream, below.
"Honoring the legacy of trailblazing artists and exploring the landscape of the new," says Benham of his three-hour, blazing rainbow of a Pride eve special.
And Romy of the xx was guest DJ on "UKNY" and chatted with host Kara Manning. Romy's solo debut album, Mid Air, is released on September 8th. For Romy's "UKNY" hour, she selected songs not only from her forthcoming album, but also some club faves that she spins when DJing herself — some of which inspired her songs on Mid Air — by LGBTQIA+ icons and allies, including Robyn, Madonna, and Beverly Glenn-Copeland.
