Frances Cone at WFUV

Frances Cone initially began as a solo project by Christina Cone. She recorded her first album, Come Back, on her own with production help from Danny Molad of Lucius fame.

Shortly after that album's release, Cone met her life and music partner, Andrew Doherty, on the auspicious date of 12/12/12. The two of them began writing music together and self-released a single called “Arizona” which quickly took on a life of its own, racking up millions on streams on Spotify.

Cone and Doherty took their time writing the next batch of songs and allowed themselves to progress and grow creatively. The result is a new collection of soulful indie pop called Late Riser.

During this episode of FUV Live, I'll talk with the Cone and Doherty of Frances Cone about their partnership and inspirations.
