"Marquee Live at Home" with Flock of Dimes

For the last decade and a half, Jenn Wasner has been one half of the Baltimore duo, Wye Oak. Over the last few years, she’s been involved in several other projects including a collaboration with Jon Ehrens of White Life called Dungeonesse, and a stint in Bon Iver as a touring member. As Flock of Dimes, though, Wasner’s musical vision truly takes shape.

Co-produced with Nick Sanborn of Sylvan Esso, her new album Head of Roses features some of the most beautiful work of her career. For this "Marquee Live at Home" show, we got to hear songs from it performed live from Jenn's living room in North Carolina, which she told us was her first “live” show for an audience in over a year.

The raw emotion of that experience was so moving, and it was incredible to hear the new songs from the space where many of them were first written. Jenn even treated us to a live version of Joni Mitchell’s "Amelia," which she originally contributed to The Joni Project last year.

Jenn also spoke with me about the process of making the new album and Joni’s long lasting influence on her art, so make it a point to check out that mid-set conversation as well.
