Erin McKeown - FUV Live - 2014

Erin McKeown doesn't perform on acoustic guitars. However, she does write on one, and she recently recorded an entirely-acoustic companion to her most recent album, Manifestra, so that the lyrics could take center stage. Today she returned to Studio A with a Gibson Hummingbird guitar that has been with her since she was 12, ahead of a show at the Rubin Museum where she'll perform with it for the first time.

In our session, we were treated to acoustic versions of "Histories" from Manifestra, "Cinematic" from 2003's Grand, and a brand new song created as part of a songwriting challenge. We also learned why she isn't currently working on a new album, and played a fun, "Dating Game"-style rundown of Erin's 37th birthday list of things she's never done.
