Cyber Spaced Out?
The word "Cyber" alway makes me think of The Matrix, The Lawnmower Man, The Terminator... of '90s sci fi films, basically. I also think about Star Trek (All generations - not just the Next). But apparently today is "Cyber Monday," an online shopping holiday of sorts. So I would like to humbly suggest that if you are taking part in "Cyber Monday," you consider strapping on your Virtual Reality Visor and pick up some tickets to our annual Holiday Cheer Benefit Concert.
It's happening December 5th at The Beacon Theatre. We've got: Lucinda Williams, Shawn Colvin, Shelby Lynne, Steve Earle & Lake Street Dive, all on the bill. There may even be some special guests, perhaps even Brent Spiner (aka Data from TNG) or one of your other favorite cyborgs. (P.S. don't hold us to the celebrity cyborg guest idea — you would not believe how hard it is to book those guys!)
Anyway, if you're gearing up to do some online shopping, remember that purchasing a ticket to Holiday Cheer is like buying a present for both you and WFUV!
And also, if you are going to be cyber-shopping at Amazon.com, please start your search using the search box here at wfuv.org -> or click on this Amazon link right here. When you do that, we get a small piece of the action, no matter what you buy, for the next 24 hours. As we all know, every little bit counts, and it doesn't cost you anything extra.
Happy holidays, everybody!
