"Cavalcade" welcomes iconic songwriter and singer Jimmy Webb at 4 p.m. for a very special Studio A visit. Yours for the Taking; The Found Songs of Jimmy Webb is a new volume of songs that were put away for another day. That day has arrived, Jimmy has nurtured them to completion, and guests like Graham Nash and Michael McDonald join him in the endeavor.

Jimmy engages in candid and free-associating conversation about his lifelong adventures in music. I have known and worked with him for a while, but finally coaxing him up to the Bronx for a proper FUV visit was a new notch for me.

A PBS "Great Performances" special on his life and music airs on Friday, October 30, at 9 p.m. (locally on Channel 13, where his wife Laura Savini is often seen pitching in the fundraising shows) and Webb plays City Winery on Sunday, November 1.

After Jimmy's hour of Studio A performances and tracks from the new album, I'll continue exploring the classic records of his songs (from Glen Campbell to Donna Summer) from 5-6 p.m.

That's "Cavalcade," Sundays from 4-7 p.m. on 90.7FM, streaming online, and in the Archives after broadcast.
