Cavalcade for March 9

New songs by Bob Mould and I'm With Her are standouts of known quantity on this evening's "Cavalcade," at 6 p.m., but a dip into the self-released musician bin yields gems as well.
The National Forest is the music moniker of Alabama-born, Pacific Northwest-based singer/songwriter Logan Bowden, and his new "Too Late For Us" has heart.
The Rabies have rocked around NYC since the early '80s, but finally got it together in a full-length studio effort, including new songs, but also a polished retake of their seminal bar-hit, "My Girl's A Hologram." Michael Insetta is a vet of the early CBGBs days and house band Stuart's Hammer; his new Jersey-born ballad is "It Breaks My Heart."
Victor V. Gurbo and Mark Caserta lend homespun charm to a grab bag of standards and a few originals on a new LP, and I chose the alluring "Little Molly Moon." And New Haven's Alexandra Burnet & The Stable Six earn a band on another vinyl item, Verso Records collection of local artists recorded at the Westport Library, and touting their well-equipped studios as the first ever record release from a public library.
And — bury the lead, Paul — that brings us to my afternoon last week in the presence of Keith Richards, who was at the library and was presented with a unique award by Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont, another first. My audio from the presentation and details about the honor air earlier in tonight's "Cavalcade."
"Cavalcade," Sundays from 6-9 p.m., on 90.7FM, streaming online, and in the Archives after broadcast.
