Cavalcade for March 15

From "La La Land" to "Hollywood Forever Cemetery," today's "Cavalcade" visits Tinseltown on this Academy Awards Sunday. Songs that namecheck famous stars and films, and Hollywood legend and lore play out in a blockbuster-length set.
Also, marking the Ides of March on the calendar with songs that evoke Caesar, Brutus, and ancient Rome, and a new lovelorn song by Teddy Thompson called "So This is Heartache," from his spring-scheduled album, Never Be the Same.
With "Cavalcade" now starting at 4 p.m., it's the red carpet edition, airing clear in advance of the big ceremony for everyone who could and would attend the opening of an envelope. Listen at 90.7FM, streaming online and in the Archives after broadcast.
