"Cavalcade" at 6 p.m. goes for the goal post on this Super Bowl Sunday with a pregame set of pigskin classics. Then I'll toss some Southern roots spice into the boil with explorations of boogie woogie, zydeco, Memphis blues and the eternal riffing of Chuck Berry.
New songs come from Jill Scott, Bruce Hornsby, Low Cut Connie, Jesse Welles, and Fantastic Cat. And remembering the soaring voice of Three Dog Night's Bronx-born lead singer Chuck Negron.
"Cavalcade," 6-9 p.m. Sunday nights on 90.7FM, streaming online. It's also perfect for your Monday morning quarterbacking, streaming in the Archives after broadcast. Programming note: "Cavalcade" moves to 4 p.m. Sundays beginning on February 22.
