"Cavalcade" ushers in August with a fine grab bag of brand new releases and at 6 p.m., the "Cavalcade Golden Anniversary LP Crate Dig," looking back to August 1976.
Old friends like Richard Thompson, Beth Orton, and Leon Bridges are in the queue with new releases, along with the Womack Sisters, a topical song by The Jayhawks, and the reinvention by The Killers' Brandon Flowers as a country crooner.
Archives are busting with previously unreleased John Prine songs and a taste of the forthcoming Rubber Soul Super Deluxe by The Beatles, all sampled on today's show.
