Calvalcade for August 9

A couple of "Cavalcade" pals have new songs, one to mark a new beginning and one in tribute to an ending.
Hollis Brown are back with the sinewy new "Garage Days," and a show in New York's granddaddy of dives, Mercury Lounge, on September 26.
The nucleus of the 2026 lineup of the Queens band are the original founders, Mike Montali and Jon Bonilla, offering their first new recording and performance in five years. Mike's voice and songs are well known to fans of his "other gig," a little songwriter collective called Fantastic Cat.
Meanwhile out in the heartland, Wisconsin's Trapper Schoepp looks out through a welling of tears at the green Ireland-like landscape that is his home, offering "Last Dublin Song," a heartfelt salute to the late Glen Hansard.
On Facebook, Trapper writes "fair winds and following seas, Glen, you are loved." Hear hear.
Surely both of these artists will stop around The Bronx soon for their next live "Cavalcade" session, but until then enjoy these out of the box offerings, courtesy of the boys themselves.
