New York's Bailen, the sibling trio with achingly handsome harmonies, have a brand new album out in the world, the aquatically enthusiastic SWIM!!!, their first independent release. Julia Bailen and her twin brothers David and Daniel endeavored to make this third album a real DIY endeavor: funding, writing, producing, engineering and mixing SWIM!!!.

Bailen did work with producer Devin Hoffman (Lorde, Gracie Abrams) on the single "Eve Babitz," inspired by the late novelist and essayist. In fact, the songs on SWIM!!! itself have a dramatic undertow worthy of a book, evolving from what Julia Bailen has described as a near-death experience when she and her parents survived a serious car accident.

In an intimate and spirited 12-song set at The Bitter End for Marquee members, Bailen dove into SWIM!!! songs that included  "Eve Babitz" and the raw, pretty "Kansas Tornado," as well as three songs available via video below: "In My Name," "Send Me Off," and the album's title track.

[Recorded: 9/11/26. Engineered by Jim O'Hara. Hosted by Paul Cavalconte, Videographers: Alena Godas, Danny Cifelli, and Dylan Duong.]
