Aurora: 2016

Norwegian artist Aurora Aksnes has been writing songs for a decade, but only over the past couple of years has her music has reached our ears Stateside. Six years ago Aksnes's own family discovered that they had a child prodigy in their midst—she had been secretly teaching herself piano and writing music.

Now 19 years old, Aurora clearly has a natural gift for writing and a gentle yet strong artistic vision that is getting her international attention. Her debut album is called All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend, and on her recent visit to Studio A, we were treated to a live performance. I also learned how she overcame her fears to share her secret gift with the world.
