Ariana Gillis/Old Man Luedecke - Sunday Breakfast - 2013

On the eve of Canada Day, the June 30 Sunday Breakfast presented a session with a pair of award-winning young Canadian artists.

Ariana Gillis is a 22 year old singer-songwriter-guitarist from Ontario with multi-colored hair and loads of talent. With her father David on banjo and Ben Rolle on percussion, she burned through a couple of high-energy story songs in Studio A.

Although he's not much older (in his 30's), Chris Luedecke performs as Old Man Luedecke. (Maybe he just considers himself an old soul.) A Nova Scotia resident, he draws on Americana roots and Biblical imagery for his songs, which he performed on banjo, accompanied by Joel E. Hunt on mandolin.
