NO: TAS In Session

Yes, there are two Los Angeles bands that carry the Google-proof moniker of NO, but we're smitten with the resilient Echo Park sextet that released its debut, El Prado, earlier this year on Arts & Crafts.

NO's soaring single, “Leave The Door Wide Open," has become a staple on The Alternate Side, but it's the band's emotional backstory—beginning with a chance meeting in a diner between New Zealand frontman Bradley Hanan Carter and bassist Sean Daniel Stentz—that gives the song a deeper resonance.

The group is in New York this week supporting Yann Tiersen at Highline Ballroom, but earlier this spring, NO said yes to a Studio A pilgramage for a session and conversation.

Below, videos of the band playing two songs from El Prado and listen to the session at any time in the FUV Vault or on TAS on 91.5 WNYE today, May 30, at 11a.m. EDT, also streaming online.
