Long Island resident Lisa Smith, WFUV’s assistant director of strategic business development, has been at the station since 2016, bringing her nonprofit underwriting and sales expertise to the radio station.
A Northwestern University graduate with more than 20 years prior experience at Tiffany & Co. WLNY-TV, and vSource1 and Scarborough Capital, Smith landed at WFUV as a longtime listener of the station.
“I have been blessed to have had a career immersed in music, especially live concerts and performances,” she says. “I led two network radio syndication companies in marketing and sales: Rick Dees’ ‘Weekly Top 40’ and ‘After Midnight.’ I’ve traveled the country promoting the ‘King Biscuit Flower Hour. Live concert broadcasts are my true love.”
In addition to loving music – and her job at WFUV — Smith is an avid gardener, Peloton devotee, and animal lover. She has a beloved daughter, “a menagerie of pets,” and an eclectic taste in music that includes the Allman Brothers, Mozart, and Prince.
