LA Wildfires: Help the Music Community
The wildfires plaguing Los Angeles, California have left many members of the music community without their homes, studios, equipment, and life's belongings. The organizations below are showing up for them, and donations support their efforts.
MusiCares: Los Angeles Fire Relief
The Recording Academy’s philanthropic arm is offering financial assistance for short-term disaster relief to music professionals ($1,500 and a $500 grocery card). MusiCares is also able to provide additional support for individuals with considerable impact, including damage to their homes, medical issues, damaged music equipment or longer-term relocation needs.
Sweet Relief
The Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, the non-profit helping musicians and music industry workers in need, has launched a natural disaster relief fund for those in Los Angeles County and the surrounding areas.
The Guitar Center
The Guitar Center Music Foundation is offering support via a one-time grant to help replace instruments lost or damaged in the fires.
Backline
Mental health non-profit Backline is sharing resources for musicians in Los Angeles via social media and offering its own services.
Go Fund Me
There are individual Go Fund Me campaigns for musicians and other individuals in the Los Angeles music community who've lost their homes and studios in the fires. While there are recognizable names on this list, such as Dawes's Taylor and Griffin Goldsmith and Empress Of, there are many other music industry professionals in need of help, including publicists, record label employees, engineers, music teachers, and more.
The 100 Percenters
The group has launched a wildfire relief fundraiser to support the music creative community in Los Angeles, noting that many live without safety nets like traditional employment benefits or disaster relief support. Grants up to $2,500 for housing, transportation, and essentials will be provided to those eligible with up to $10,000 to replace equipment, restore creative spaces, etc. In addition, up to $2,000 for mental health counseling and wellness services.

Live Nation and AEG Presents have joined forces with the Azoff family to hold a benefit concert, FireAid. Set for 30 January at Inglewood’s Intuit Dome (cap. 18,000), the “evening of music and solidarity” will raise money to support rebuilding affected communities and efforts to prevent future fire disasters throughout Southern California. Performers and ticket information will be announced in the coming days. Proceeds from the concert will go towards a charity created for this event.
BeyGOOD
BeyGOOD, the public charity foundation founded by Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, is donating $2.5 million toward an LA fire relief fund, earmarked to aid families in the Altadena/Pasadena area who lost their homes, and to churches and community centers to address the immediate needs of those affected by the wildfires.
