About the Honorees:
Connie Chung
With a career spanning decades, Connie Chung has delivered news with an unwavering commitment to accuracy and depth. During her early years, Connie was only the second woman and the first Asian person to anchor a major nightly news program in the United States. In recognition of her numerous achievements, we will be honoring Connie with the Charles Osgood Award for Excellence in Broadcast Journalism.
Lesley Visser
An iconic figure in the world of sports journalism, Lesley Visser has shattered numerous glass ceilings in her professional career, perhaps most notably as the first woman analyst to cover an NFL game on TV. In recognition of her numerous achievements as a sports journalist, WFUV will be honoring Lesley with the Vin Scully Award for Excellence in Sports Broadcasting. Lesley is also the first woman to receive the Scully Award.
