UPDATE: Seventeen Hurt, Two Critically, After New Jersey Bus Crash
Although school bus was involved, no students were on board at the time of the accident.
Seventeen people were injured this morning, two critically, following a crash in New Jersey on Thursday morning involving a mini school bus and a commuter bus. A 42-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman were transported to be treated at Robert Wood Johnson hospital, according to the Associated Press. No students were involved in the crash. Those with non-serious injuries are in stable condition at Raritan Bay Medical Center.
The commuter bus, which was headed to New York City, reportedly struck the school bus from behind and then slammed into a nearby tree. The impact caused the school bus to roll onto its side.
The investigation is ongoing.
