Casey Jones (public domain)

Casey Jones, the train engineer who inspired many a song, was born on this date in 1864. He became a folk hero, dying with his hand on the brake of his train as it collided with another, thus saving his passengers and crew. For the Question of the Day: What are your favorite train songs? We'll link together a set.
