Tom Rush: Sunday Supper Session

At the age of 83, Tom Rush is demonstrably at the top of his game. His recent album, Gardens Old, Flowers New, produced by sideman extraordinaire Matt Nakoa, contains all original songs and is his best in years.
Tom and Matt visited Studio A for a session that covered the genesis of the album, Rush's approach to songwriting (simplicity), and his plans to hang up his road shoes (none). They gave us a couple of live runs, including Nakoa on piano, as well as a taste of Matt's production.
To call the easygoing Rush an American treasure is no understatement. Appreciate his voice, his guitar playing, and his humor in this session.
