Over the past two decades, The New Pornographers have amassed an amazingly consistent catalog of great records. Whether it’s the crunch of Twin Cinema or the power-pop brilliance of Brill Bruisers, each release has earned the band some well-deserved critical acclaim. Their latest album (and this week's New Dig), In The Morse Code of Brake Lights, is a swirling piece of magic, shining a different light on today’s political climate with unmatched depth and dimension.

With such a storied history and great new record just out, you can imagine my excitement on the day they played Rockwood Music Hall for some lucky FUV Marquee Members. With a slightly stripped-down version of the band, they played some of the new material as well as a couple of favorites from Whiteout Conditions.

And how could I leave out the interview? Carl Newman doubled as frontman and comedian in this show, well worthy of some extended listening. Enjoy!
