The National: Forest Hills Stadium 2017
Sleep Well Beast, the latest album from The National, finds the band taking its trademark subtle intensity and bringing it to new heights. Naturally, we couldn’t wait to hear a bunch of the new songs live in our last broadcast of the season from Forest Hills Stadium.
To say the band was in fine form is a massive understatement, but have a listen for yourself. With so many standouts — from new tracks "Dark Side of the Gym," "Day I Die" and "Turtleneck" to favorites "Secret Meeting," "Bloodbuzz Ohio" and "Fake Empire" — it was a dream setlist for fans. Throw in their locally appropriate cover of the Ramones’ "The KKK Took My Baby Away" and it was a pretty perfect evening in Queens.
