Slow Dancer: 2017

Australian-born songwriter Simon Okely records as Slow Dancer and he is set to release his new album, In a Mood, this June.

The lush arrangements on the songs evoke a number of different comparisons. You’ll hear bits of Van Morrison and Nick Drake in the warmth of the production, backed with a subtle groove and a quiet cool.

I talked with Okely about the new album, his influences, his guitar style, and lots more. Check out his great live versions of “Don’t Believe” and "It Goes On."
