Internationally acclaimed gypsy jazz virtuoso Stéphane Wrembel will be my guest on "Shocking Blue" tonight at 8 p.m.

I spoke with the French guitarist in advance of his Django A Gogo performances at Symphony Space on May 15 and 16.

As a teenager growing up in Fontainebleau, France, Wrembel was obsessed with Pink Floyd. That was until he discovered Django Reinhardt and everything changed.

We spoke about gypsy jazz (jazz manouche) and the annual festival that Wrembel created in 2003 — and he told me who will be playing with him this year.

That's "Shocking Blue," Saturdays from 8-11 p.m., on 90.7FM, streaming online and in the Archives after broadcast.
