Shocking Blue for August 8

Bobby Rush says all music comes from the blues. The 92-year-old, three-time Grammy winner and 16-time Blues Music Award winner, who has been inducted into numerous Halls of Fame, will headline this year's Hudson River Park Blues BBQ Festival on Saturday, August 15.
The free all-day festival is in its 27th year. I’ve had the privilege to emcee this festival for the past several years and I am delighted to have Bobby as my guest on "Shocking Blue" tonight at 8 p.m. He’ ll give us a taste of the blues to feel deep in our souls.
Also on the bill at the festival is Howlin’ Hurd. Brian Hurd is a local musician by way of St Louis. His band, Daddy Long Legs, has toured the world and plays frequently when home in New York City. He’ll be playing at the Hudson River Park Blues BBQ Festival next Saturday too, with his blues outfit, Howlin’ Hurd.
Brian is also my guest this evening on "Shocking Blue" and he will also be blowing his mouth harp. Two artists spanning generations of the blues with much to say.
"Shocking Blue" will also be rocking some new psychobilly from Cramps' unearthed 1977 album, Gravest Gravy. And we’ll remember Jeff "Monoman" Conolly of the band Lyres. Plus lots more!
