In episode 1 of She Was, She Is, we're looking at the music industry. We talk with Nicole Barsalona, the director of the organization Women in Music. Her organization works to educate, empower, and advance women at all levels of the music industry from producers, to executives, to artists. 

We also talk with the all-female, New York City rock band, THICK about their experience with double standards in the music industry, and why they think the Big Apple is the most welcoming to female musicians.
