Shawn Taylor & Meghan Cary: 2018

Shawn Taylor, a traveling troubadour from Connecticut, and Meghan Cary, a singer-songwriter from Philadelphia, share several qualities. They both are parents raising children in musical households, they both write songs that resonate for this moment in time, and they both will perform at On Your Radar on Tuesday, January 9 at Rockwood Music Hall.
Taylor has hiked the entire Appalachian Trail and worked as an oysterman and carpenter before committing to a full-time music career. Cary was pursuing a stage career in NYC when a romance, then an untimely death, drew her deeper into music.
I was pleased to see how Taylor and Cary connected in the studio. Taylor contributed backing vocals to Cary's songs, and Cary's husband Peter accompanied both Cary and Taylor on piano. More than that, they are kindred spirits who believe in the power of music to make a difference in the world.
