Senator Schumer Backs New Pathway from Manhattan to Yonkers

The "Greenway Project" is expected to take up to 13 years to complete.

New Yorkers can look forward to riding their bikes from Manhattan to Yonkers.

New York Senator Chuck Schumer anmounced plans for a bike and pedestrian walkway called The "Greenway Project". Schumer says he's confident the new pathway will boost the local economy. He also say's he's excitied not only as a politican, but as a New York resident.

"I can tell you that I am a biker. I ride all over the city. I ride over there. But in any case, to be able to ride here on the East side of the Hudson, the New York side of the Hudson, is terribly exciting".

The "Greenway Project" is expected to take as long as 13 years to complete and cost between 10 and 20 million dollars. Senator Schumer says he will work to secure the funding for the pathway.
