One of the most significant events in radio history happened on this date in 1922 - WEAF broadcast the very first commercial. It was an ad for the Hawthorne Court Apartments in Queens. Since then, radio has been used to pitch everything under the sun. Your assignment today is to pick a product or service and give us a song to sell it. You've gotta come up with something that hasn't been done before. We're not looking for songs already used by advertisers. Don't miss this incredible opportunity after 9am!

Here's what we played:

The Everly Brothers "All I Have to Do Is Dream"

James Taylor "Shower the People"

Indigo Girls "Hammer and a Nail"

The Temptations "Ain't Too Proud to Beg"
