The fertile Brooklyn music scene is full of talented, in-demand musicians who are comfortable in multiple genres. We were able to convene a half-dozen of them for a very special "Sunday Supper" session.

Accordionist Sam Reider is a member of several groups—including Silver City Bound (formerly The Amigos), Phoebe Hunt and the Gatherers, and his own outfit, Sam Reider and the Human Hands—which has brought him to Studio A five times. For this most recent visit he brought the musicians who worked with him on his all-instrumental, cinematic new release, Too Hot to Sleep.

Guitarist Roy Williams is a member of the Human Hands, as well as a sideman for gypsy jazz guitarist Stephane Wrembel. As a solo artist he assumes the persona of Brother Roy and moves over to the piano. His album, Last Man Standing, bears the influence of Leon Russell and depicts some colorful characters.

Sam Reider and the Human Hands and Brother Roy will be part of an all-Brooklyn "On Your Radar" with Phoebe Hunt and the Gatherers on March 13 at Rockwood Music Hall. Reider is also staging an album release gig at a secret location on February 3 (details at his website). You can get a preview here.
