Remembering Charlie Watts
Charlie Watts passed away peacefully yesterday in a London hospital surrounded by his family. He was 80. Watts had been the drummer for The Rolling Stones since their start in the early '60s. Unlike his peers Watts was not bombastic on stage or off, although he was a dapper and dignified dresser. Having come from a jazz background, Watts played a simple four-drum kit and did so with a solid backbeat. To remember Charlie we welcome your requests for a set after 9 a.m.
Here's what we played:
John Hiatt "Slow Turning"
The Rolling Stones "Get Off of My Cloud"
The Rolling Stones "Honky Tonk Women"
The Rolling Stones "Rip This Joint"
Howlin' Wolf "Rockin' Daddy"
