On this date in 2004 Apple launched the U2 Special Edition iPod pre-loaded with the new album How to to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb. That's one example of promotions and gimmicks that have been used to sell music. What are some others you can think of? We'll base the Question of the Day set on your responses.

Here's what we played:

Norah Jones "Just Noise" from Beck's Song Reader initally released as sheet music.

Radiohead "Jigsaw Falling into Place" from the pay-what-you-want In Rainbows.

Jack White "Lazaretto" "the world's fastest record" recorded and released on vinyl in less than 4 hours.

The Monkees "Last Train to Clarksville" released on the back of Post cereal boxes in 1970.
