Located in Astoria, Rainey Park is eight acres of green space along the East River. Closed since 2023, it has finally reopened after a multimillion-dollar reconstruction. Renovations included the park’s athletic and play areas, sidewalks, and green spaces.

While the park had faced multiple delays in reopening, the New York City Parks Department held a ribbon cutting ceremony on July 9 that showcased the park's updated features.

NYC Parks Commissioner Iris Rodriguez-Rosa said that her department is “committed to ensuring that our green spaces not only meet the diverse needs of our communities, but also provide equitable access to high-quality recreational opportunities for all New Yorkers.”

The park is now open to the public and located on Vernon Boulevard in Astoria.
