Question of the Day: Singing Drummers

by Corny O'Connell | 05/26/2015 | 6:26am

Levon Helm at Newport Folk Festival

Levon Helm would have been 75 years old today. He was beloved as the drummer and vocalist for The Band, and in later years for his Midnight Rambles at his home in Woodstock. Drummers don't usually do much singing the way Levon did. Who else has been known to sing lead and play drums? Share your favorites and we'll spin a set.

Here's what we played after 9am:

The Monkees (Micky Dolenz) "Last Train to Clarksville"

Ringo Starr "It Don't Come Easy"

Buddy Miles "Them Changes"

The Band (Levon Helm) "Up on Cripple Creek"
