Question of the Day: Quotable Lyrics

by Corny O'Connell | 09/28/2015 | 6:07am

windy day

Listener Gregg from Upper Montclair suggested today's Question of the Day - lyrics that have been so widely quoted that they're used like proverbs. A good example is the Bob Dylan line, "You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows." Search your high school yearbook or your friends' Facebook feeds for more examples.

Here's what we played after 9am:

The Grateful Dead "Truckin'" What a long strange trip it's been

Janis Joplin "Me and Bobby McGee" Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose

Joni Mitchell "Big Yellow Taxi" You don't know what you've got 'til it's gone

The Rolling Stones "You Can't Always Get What You Want"You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, well you just might find you get what you need
