When Pieta Brown released her debut album in 2002, some may have written it off as nepotism, since she's the daughter of a master songwriter, Greg Brown. However, she was the real deal and has grown considerably as an artist in the past 17 years. Brown describes her new album Freeway, recorded at Justin Vernon's April Base Studio in Wisconsin, as a "major shift" for her.

Brown recently returned to WFUV for her fourth visit (and second for "Sunday Supper") with J.T. Bates accompanying her on drums. During the session we got to explore some of the transitions in her life and enjoy a couple of songs live in Studio A.
