In the spirit of music discovery which guides WFUV, our DJs offer their favorite new artists on the cusp of making it to the next level.
OJR is the acronym/moniker for the hugely talented songwriter Oliver John Rodgers. Early in 2016, he self-released Nashville Demos, a collection of songs recorded in the famed music city but with roots right here in New York.
After spending a few years in Brooklyn, Oliver moved to Nashville, and after the release of the new record, the attention on OJR has steadily grown. He’s an old soul with nods to the past in his music, but he clearly has his eyes on the future.
