NYACC and Best Friends Animal Society: Adoption Event

Animal Care Centers of NYC is partnering with Best Friends Animal Society for a special pop-up adoption event in Brooklyn on Saturday March 15th, from 11 AM to 5 PM, and Sunday March 16th, from 11 AM to 4 PM, at 232 Varet Street. The event offers reduced-fee adoptions to help alleviate overcrowding in city shelters. WFUV’s Andrew McDonald spoke with Kathy Hansen, Communications Director at Animal Care Centers of NYC, about the impact of these events, how they bring adoptable pets closer to potential owners, and what to expect during the adoption process. Hansen also shared how New Yorkers can support shelter animals beyond adoption, including spreading the word on social media to help pets find homes.
