New York Islanders' Midseason Report with Chris Hennessy
A historic first season at UBS Arena for the New York Islanders has been interesting to say the least. The reigning Eastern Conference champions have struggled for much of this year for reasons outside of their control, whether playing 13 games on the road to start it or facing the brunt of a COVID-19 outbreak that they are only now fully overcoming. Despite that, there are signs that the team is turning a corner, with stout goalkeeping leading the way to a strong December giving them the opportunity to break out of the bottom of the Metropolitan Division that they have become so familiar with this year.
One of our New York Islanders' beat reporters, Chris Hennessy, takes us through the journey from the offseason all the way to today. He looks at some of the key moments, top performers and storylines that have defined this season and where it may be going next.
