Morning Brief: July 17

The next time you use Uber, you might notice something a little different. The car service is blasting Mayor de Blasio through their app for his support of New York City's yellow cabs, and his opposition to for-hire vehicles. The app now features a “de Blasio” feature, and when selected, no cars appear on the road map. Instead, a banner prompts the user to "Take action," saying, "This is what Uber will look like in NYC if Mayor de Blasio's Uber cap bill passes. Email the Mayor and City Council. Say 'No' to de Blasio's Uber!" A spokesperson for the mayor's office responded, saying they "have a job to do to keep this city safe."
