Michael Daves has been called "a titan of the Brooklyn bluegrass scene" by Chris Thile. His new album on Nonesuch, Orchids and Violence, is a unique double CD: one disc features performances in traditional bluegrass style and the other revisits those same songs in edgy rock arrangements.
