Monday at 9pm on Words and Music: Lucero celebrates its hometown of Memphis, a new album and 14 years as a band.
The punk-loving guys of Lucero formed in Memphis in 1998, and quickly began stirring together a bunch of musical ingredients: a dash of indie-folk, a dollop of alt-country, and a heaping cup of southern-fried rock. The mixture has served them well ever since, and a tour in support of their new album 'Women & Work' brought Lucero by FUV for a visit with host Darren DeVivo. [recorded: 04/17/12]
