Larry Campbell and Teresa Williams - Sunday Breakfast - 2015
When Larry Campbell was asked to back Teresa Williams at a gig in 1986, it was love at first sight. Larry was already an in-demand sideman for his prowess on virtually every stringed instrument, and Teresa had displayed her sensational vocal chops in theatrical roles. Larry went on to an eight-year stint in Bob Dylan's band and together they've toured with the likes of Hot Tuna, Phil Lesh, and Little Feat, not to mention being members of Levon Helm's Dirt Farmer Band.
Now, after all these years, they've released their debut album as a duo. They brought a killer backing band, including Byron Isaacs on bass, Justin Guip on drums, and Bill Payne of Little Feat fame on piano, for a Sunday Breakfast session in Studio A. They performed three songs from the album, including a version of "Keep Your Lamp Trimmed and Burning" that almost literally set the studio ablaze.
