Henry Jamison: 2017
Henry Jamison is a young singer-songwriter from Vermont who comes from a bardic tradition. One of his forebears, George Frederick Root, wrote the Civil War anthem "The Battle Cry of Freedom," and another, John Gower, was a contemporary of Chaucer. Drawing on his philosophy studies at Bowdoin College, he writes songs that explore the intersection of the human and the natural worlds.
To record his debut album, he went to an isolated studio in rural Vermont. Thankfully, he was comfortable venturing to the Bronx with a couple of Brooklyn musicians to do this session for the Sunday Supper.
