Don McGee's Five Favorite Concerts (Host of "Mixed Bag"):
Cream Reunion Concert, Madison Square Garden (October 25th, 2005)
The most expensive ticket I've ever bought - to any event. Worth every penny.
Crosby, Stills & Nash at the U.N. General Assembly
Raising money for World Hunger Year. Hosted by Pete Fornatale. Those gorgeous harmonies filling that great space.
Bruce Springsteen opens the Brendan Byrne Arena
Got mail order tickets to 4 of the 6 shows. Excessive, yes, but I was just out of college, single and had some money to burn.
Rolling Stones, Madison Square Garden, 1975
The tour they announced from the flatbed truck on 5th Avenue. The stage was built in the shape of a closed lotus flower which opened slowly during the first song, "Honky Tonk Woman."
John Lennon's surprise Thanksgiving night appearance with Elton John at MSG (November 28, 1974)
Just magic.
