funk

Today is the birthdate of Isaac Funk who with Adam Wagnalls gave us Funk & Wagnalls dictionary and encyclopedia. Tragically Funk died in 1912, well before he could get down to the music that would bear his name. By way of historical revisionism, we honor the man (who never went to Funkytown) with your requests after 9am.

Here's what we played:

Monophonics "Like Yesterday"

Lyn Collins "Think (About It)"

James Brown "Get Up (I Feel Like Being a Sex Machine)"

Rose Royce "Car Wash"

Sly & The Family Stone "Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)"
