Freedy Johnston - Sunday Breakfast - 2015

Freedy Johnston with John Platt

Freedy Johnston, a Kansas native who has lived at various times in NYC, was named "Songwriter of the Year" by Rolling Stone in 1995. Twenty years later, he's still a great song craftsman, as evidenced by his most recent album, Neon Repairman. On a return visit to the Sunday Breakfast, Freedy shared insights into his writing process and performed three songs from the album, including the title track, which was consciously modeled on Jimmy Webb's classic, "Wichita Lineman."
