Cross-Cultural Collaborations

Today is the 40th anniversary of the release of Paul Simon's Graceland album. The album rejuvenated Simon's career, going multi-platinum and winning Grammy Awards for Album of the Year and Record of the Year. However, the album was not without controversy as Simon recorded it in South Africa during apartheid. There, he collaborated with African musicians such as Ladysmith Black Mambazo whom Simon also brought on tour for the album.
