Citizen Cope returns with a solid batch of new songs and his guitar in hand for a lucky group of WFUV Marquee members at Rockwood Music Hall. The new album, Heroin and Helicopters, is his sixth and it's classic Cope, featuring master wordplay, irresistible rhythms and catchy melodies.

In this FUV Live set, we hear some new tunes and some favorites in an intimate, engaging, solo performance, and I also talk with Cope (a.k.a. Clarence Greenwood) about the album's title and his path to these songs. Citizen Cope and his full band join FUV on May 3, 2019 at the WFUV High Line Bash.

Setlist:

  • The River
  • Hours on End
  • Justice
  • D’Artagnan's Theme
  • Duck Confit
  • Bullet and a Target
  • Sideways
  • Pablo Picasso
  • Lifeline

[Recorded: 2/26/19; Engineers: Hear No Evil and Jim O'Hara; Producer: Sarah Wardrop]
